The Help toolbar item (
) is a special kind of item called a ToolbarDialogButton . ToolbarDialogButtons (which include FindReplace, InsertBookmark, etc.) let you customize the content and appearance of the HTML dialog box they pop up to an end user. In this topic you will learn how to display the text, "Learn more about this application <a href="">here</a>", with a hyperlink where end users clicking the Help button on WebHtmlEditor’s™ toolbar can find more information.
Before you start writing any code, you should place using/imports directives in your code-behind so you don’t need to always type out a member’s fully qualified name.
In Visual Basic:
Imports Infragistics.WebUI.WebHtmlEditor
In C#:
using Infragistics.WebUI.WebHtmlEditor;
Get the BaseToolbarItem that has type ToolbarItemType .Help from within the ToolbarItemCollection of your WebHtmlEditor.
In Visual Basic:
Dim items As ToolbarItemCollection items = WebHtmlEditor1.Toolbar.Items Dim helpBtn As BaseToolbarItem helpBtn = items.GetByType(ToolbarItemType.Help)
In C#:
ToolbarItemCollection items = WebHtmlEditor1.Toolbar.Items; BaseToolbarItem helpBtn = items.GetByType( ToolbarItemType.Help);
Cast the BaseToolbarItem to a ToolbarDialogButton so that you can set the Dialog.Text property to the custom HTML you want to display. In your HTML, you want to use the <a> tag to provide a link to someplace on your Web site containing more information about your application.
In Visual Basic:
Dim html As String html = "<p>Learn more about this application " + _ "<a href='http://www.example.com'>here</a>.</p>" CType(helpBtn, ToolbarDialogButton).Dialog.Text = html
In C#:
string html = "<p>Learn more about this application " + "<a href='http://www.example.com'>here</a>.</p>"; ((ToolbarDialogButton)helpBtn).Dialog.Text = html;
