Get Hirarchical Grid value of Checked Bands having N Childs in Code behind in c#

I am Implementing Web Hierarchical Data Grid and on Save i want to Get the Checked Rows Id's on Code Behind.

Hello,

I have been looking into your requirement and prepared a small sample in order to demonstrate how such behavior could be achieved.

I added an UnboundCheckboxColumn to the grid bands column collection and on click on the Save button, I looped through all rows and bands and check the value of the check box. Based on this value I'm adding the row id and level to a globally defined list.

Please keep in mind that in order to have access to the RowIslands on the server-side when the button is clicked you should disable the EnableDataViewState property and re-bind the grid again so the islands would be generated.

Attached you will find my sample for your reference. Please test it on your side and let me know if I may be of any further assistance.

Thanks for your support as you suggest me to Disable EnableDataViewState Property, but i can't Disable it as i am getting Error :

"

Requested record cannot be found by key.
Common Causes:
- The data key field(s) is being edited causing the record not to be found when trying to update.
- Not rebinding the grid when there are updates to be committed (assuming DataViewState is disabled in this case) – for instance if the grid is bound on !IsPostback.
- While a user is editing a particular row in the grid, another user deletes the record from the database. On posting back, the grid is rebound to the updated datasource which no longer contains the record, resulting in the exception.
- Changing completely or filtering the grid’s datasource before all CRUD operations are carried out – this is quite common when using other controls on the page to do this . This is partly due to the fact that control events such as SelectedIndexChanged for a dropdownlist or Click for a button fire before the updating events. Changing the grid’s source should in such cases be delayed for later (PreRender).

so ,that's the Reason i put EnableDataViewStatePropety True.

As i am Inplementing Roles and Rights so my First Parent will have Unique Module Code on the Second child i also have Unique Page Names (Trn Code) but on third level i have Multiple Roles against One Page like one page have Save ,Post ,Edit ,Delete (having Same Page Id or Trn Id), So on the Third Level Ids will be Duplicate.

Hello,

Did you have the chance to test the attached sample? On my side, it works as expected with no errors.

Additionally, please make sure the IsPostBack check in the Page_Load event handler is removed when the EnableDataViewState is disabled.

The reason why the rowIsland collection is empty when you try to access it via the server-side event handler is that probably you are using a DataSet or some similar data structure and on postback, the grid knows that it has child grids but the actual data is still not bound.

If you require to keep the EnableDataViewState property to true you could handle the click event on the client-side or probably use an ObservableCollection for a data source.
