It looks like it has been a week or more since anyone from Infragistics has posted on this forum. There are lots of unanswered questions.
Please please please can Infragistics invest a bit more time informally supporting it's WPF user-base. Yes I know normal & express users don't pay for support, and this is a peer-to-peer forum. But unfortunetly the fact is, most Xam control experts work for Infragistics - this isn't like general WPF or WCF. Peer-to-peer WITHOUT your help is going to be weak, at least for the forseeable future.
If you want your controls to be a success, it's important developers learn about them. And to do that we NEED support from experts!
Just invest 1 or 2 person-hours per day in answering questions. It has to make commercial sense. Your grid is much more responsive than a certain competitors, and I personally prefer it. But without some regular, informal support from experts, it's an up hill struggle.
If you invest this low level of informal support for, say 12 months, expertise will build up in the user community, and the peer-to-peer concept will then work!!
Back in Febuary 08 your forum support was excellent, can we return to that level please?
Thanks for a great product,
John
I second that... due to lack of p2p support and hard to read/search documents, Infra WPF will loose it market share unfortunately... I do have some questions and its usually hard to find answers or takes longer etc...
Maybe we should all email Infragistics individually about this? My company has the 'professional' version of the controls, it's not like we're using the free versions.
I've been evaluating a certain other datagrid - the performance is junk compared to Infragistics (real-time scrolling of 1000 record dataset is appalling!).
BUT their staff are posting 7+ messages per working day to the forum!
What a dilema: a good grid with little support, or an inferior grid with lots of support..
I just emailed ProductManager@Infragistics.com about this.
I would encourage everyone who feels the same to contact them also!
Hear, hear. The old forums were great because Infragistics had a lot of staff answering questions plus the user base were large enough for it to work efficiently.
Unfortunately these new forums just don't have enough users yet, and thus Infragistics should invest to get this community up and running.
Thanks for the positive response Curtis.
Lets hope things improve!
Hi John,
Thank you for bringing this problem to our attention. We are currently transitioning some of our expertise to the WPF forums and this thread and various posts have been missed as a result. We are re-focusing our efforts in order to address all outstanding posts on this forum. If the above-mentioned posts concerning the grid are not answered before the end of the week, please email me the post URL and I will bring it up in the queue.
You can email me by clicking on my name and going to my Infragistics page.
Thank you!
