If the XamMultiColumnCombo have keyboard focus and the user types in nothing or not select anything and goes to another control (lost focus), first or second time the control select automatically the first row in the combo. A serious mistake, I fink.Does anyone have an idea how to turn it off?

yes, the selected item is not part of the itemssoure. This is on purpose! I set CustomValueEnteredAction="Allow" because the user should be able to set an item which is not contained in the itemssource.
And yes, if the user opens the dropdown, NONE of the items should be focused when the selected item is not part of the ItemsSource collection!
Because if the first item is focused although there is an item selected which is not part of the ItemsSource and the user confirms with the "ENTER" Button, the first item is the new selected item. I don't want that behaviour.
If the user wants to select a new item from the DropDown (from the ItemsSoure), then he/she should be able to press i.e. the "ARROW DOWN" button to select the first item in the ItemsSource.
Long story short: If the selected item is not in the itemsSource, no item should be focused when the multicolumnComboBox DropDown gets opened.
How do i accomplish that?

in the service release 13.1.20131.2108 the error is still not completely gonewhen CheckBoxVisibility="Visible" and AllowMultipleSelection="True" and someone click on the button and the popup opens and click the button againto close it, after the control lost focus the first item was automatically selected !
Slowly it gets critical...

Thank you for your feedback. I have been looking into issue and following the provided steps I could not managed to reproduce the issue. Opening the dropdown and closing it by the mouse click and selecting another element does not make the first item selected. I am attaching a sample application(ComboIssue.zip) that I have used for my tests. Please double-check it and provide me with more details in order to reproduce it on my side.

you're right, but if you add another control into your example of custom filter "xamMultiColumnCombo-CustomFiltering.zip" then occurs the behavior.I could not locate the issue, can you find the place?So I'am back at the beginning of my problem: case insensitive in XamMultiColumnComboBox.

Please find attached the sample solution which describes my problem.
The steps to identify the problem in the attached sample solution:
1. Extract the solution and open it.
2. Run the application.
3. Open the Multi Column Drop Down in the third column, and select any value.
4. With out loosing focus, hit TAB to loose the focus. You will see that the drop down value is set to the First element instead of the element you have selected.
Any suggestions to fix this error/bug?
