set charset in xammap for propierties in dbf file of shape file

I'm importing a shape file in xammap and the geometry of the map is showing ok.

I set the caption in the datamapping property, to a property in dbf file. Texts in dbs are in ISO-8859-1, not in UTF-8, and are not displaying correctly, special chars like accents are not showing correctly (appear like a ? inside a diamond).

How can I set the charset of the dbf file?

    Hi Isidoro,

    Can you send me a sample SHP and DBF file with ISO-8859-1 encoding that has these special characters so I can test this?
