Will the release version of xamMap support base maps (such as Bing and OpenStreetMap).
The xamMap control supports the widely-available “Shapefile” file format, and OpenGIS standards-based SQL extensions for geospatial data such as those supported by Microsoft SQL Server 2008.
It provides support for rendering geographical imagery sources including OpenStreetMap, BingMaps and CloudMade.

I looked at the documentation link you sent, and that does show how to do what I requested on silverlight. But, I am looking to do it on WPF. I looked on the WPF documentation for 2010.2 and there is no indication of tile support in WPF. To make matters worse, the download is not working properly yet for 2010.2 :(
