Merge Column Header

Is it possible to Merge 2 of the column Header cells without affecting the columns beneath them?

if so how?

You can use the Row layout and put a unbound column on front of the two column head, making it "label only " in label position option, but that is a multiple line head though.

could you please specify your solution in more detail (code example).

My problem: I'd like to attach bound columns to certain groups within the band. For some of these columns within a group I need a header spanning over them. It looks like this:

|-- group 1 --|--         group 2        --|
                  |--      header0          --|
                  |- header1   | header2 |

No idea.

Since your version is too old to support the property, if you don't update to the new version, I'm afraid you have to override the OnPaint event. I think you don't wanna do that.

But it seems I have a version problem. On WinGrid4.3, "LabelPosition=LabelOnly" is not possible.
Any idea?

Sorry, it's difficult to give you the sample code, because the best way to do so is using the graphic design mode to do so, if you want to do so using code, I think it's crazy. I saw the generated codes after I got the heads like you said, the code was complex and terrible.

The main steps are:

1. Add the 'header 2.1.1' which will bind to datatable or dataset in "Data Schema".

2. Add the header 2.1 and group 1 header which is just head using the unbound columns.

3. Enter the design mode. Following Band and Column Settings -> Column Arrangement Overview ->Choose 'Use Row Layout' Option -> Press 'Design Column Arrangement Now' Button.

4. Drag the columns or heads as you like. If you want one column just display only on the head, not in the body of the grid, just set the "LabelPosition=LabelOnly".

5. When you want to have muplti-line head, you have to set the header 2.1.1's property like this:Originx = 2,OriginY =4; The value 0 means first line, 2 means second, 4 means third, 6 means fouth...... If you want some head can span like header 2.1, just set the "SpanX = 4."
