Saving the workspace in database

Hello

How do we save the workspace in the ultradockmanager, workspace includes size and position of all tabs; all settings of a grid etc in to the database, so on restart of the application saved workspace is reloaded?

Hello Jeni,

Maybe one possible approach to achieve desired behavior could be if you are using Save / Load methods of our controls. For example our UltraDockManager has:

ultraDockManager1.SaveAsBinary();

ultraDockManager1.LoadFromBinary();

or

ultraDockManager1.SaveComponentSettings();

ultraDockManager1.SaveAsXML();

About our UltraGrid, you could try:

ultraGrid1.DisplayLayout.SaveAsXml();

ultraGrid1.DisplayLayout.Save();

Do you mean that the UltraGrid`s layout is loading slowly ? If so, are you able to provide us a sample that reproduce this issue, because I`m not able to reproduce it. Are you sure that this delay is cause from our UltraGrid1.DisplayLayout.Load() method. If I understood your scenario, you are using Database to save/load the layout. Maybe this delay is cause from connection to database (TableAdapters / EntityDataModel). Please give us more details about your scenario (or small sample that reproduce your issue) and I`ll be glad to research it for you.
