How to successfully use UltraSplitter
posted

I just can't get the sense of what I need to do to put make a basic horizontal splitter work. Watched your short video, but to no avail. Can you give me some hints as to what one needs to do or point me to some thorough documentation? Thank  you.

    Hi,

UltraSplitter works very much the same as the inbox Splitter control.

What exactly is giving you trouble? What are you trying to do?

Let's say I want to create a form with two panels and put a horizontal splitter in between them. Here's what I would do:

    1. Open the form designer and add two Panel controls (or UltraPanels if you like) to the form.
    2. Add an UltraSplitter to the form. Make sure it's added to the form and not inside one of the panels.
    3. By default, the UltraSplitter is docked to the left, creating a vertical split. So to make it horizontal, set the Dock property to Top. You could also dock it to the bottom.
    4. Now set the Dock property of one of the panels to Top and the other to Fill.
    5. At this point, you might be done, but the order in which you added the controls to the form determines their ZOrder. So it's also possible that one control may overlap the splitter. If that's the case, select the panel that is overlapping and use the BringToFront button.

    That's it. :)
