I've spent 30 minutes trying to figure out how to remove the default gray range.
How does it work? clearRanges doesn't do it...
Please, please, please post a gauge/chart anatomy. Sure, the word needle and ranges make sense. But sweep and backing and scale... ? It was scale... but I'm confused. Scale has start/end extent, but not inner/outer. Ranges have start/end extents for both inner/outer. I think the scale should have scaleInnerExtent and scaleOuterExtent... not start/end. Thoughts?
Hey Caylan,
Just wanted to let you know that i posted a blog article on the anatomy of the Gauge.
Hopefully it will be helpful to others that run into the same issues that you did.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi Caylan,
I agree there are a lot of options, and i keep meaning to write a post on it. I'll try and get one out this week or next.
As for scale, think of it more as a background for tickmarks. Its more of a convenience than having to add a range to handle this, and is a common feature on some radial gauges.
If you wanted to do something more complex, you can always remove the scale, and replace it with a range.
Hope this helps
