Hi,
I'm using webdatagrid 12.1 version and trying to get the following behavior:
I have the following db table:
col1 | col2
1 | a
1 | b
1 | c
2 | d
2 | e
2 | f
3 | g
one column should contain a combobox with all values from col 1
second column should contain a combobox with values from col2 but only the ones that match the selected value from col1
how can I do that?
Hello eligazit,
I would like to inform you that the support for 12.1 is dropped 2 years ago! The current earliest version that Infragistics supports is 14.1.
If you want to update your widget pack, I'm suggesting you to migrate to our jQuery based suite - IgniteUI.
There are lot of advantages you can experience in it - From ASP.NET WebForms to modern web technologies.
Our sales department will help you to seal the deal - Sales / Customer Support.
my server is running under .NET 2.0, is the new IgniteUI can run under this framework?
Hi eligazit,
If you currently got only license for 12.1, you need to purchase the license for 16.2. You the provided contacts above of our sales department.
Then you can follow the steps of this post to renew your license - Changing existing license key .
Seamless upgrade!
I will download the latest version.
can you provide details on how to achieve what I'm looking for using the webdatagrid 16.2?
I'll response backwards.
What do you want in your original post is achievable into WebDataGrid, but then again - to use our latest ASP.NET control you need to upgrade to the latest version - 16.2. In this case you will need assistance from our sale department too.
That is why I suggested not to upgrade, but to migrate to the IgniteUI.
IgnateUI is jQuery-base framework, which means it is JavaScript based, i.e. almost entirely front-end framework. For comparison - WebDataGrid is part of our Aikido framework which is ASP.NET WebForms based, that is the server web technology of .NET. That is why it looks different - it is back-end vs front-end and ASP.NET vs jQueryUI.
Citing new trends in the web, I'm suggesting you to migrate to IgniteUI. If you have problem to migrate - Aikido upgrade is also a solution.
Depends on your needs, schedule, requirements!
I've also started to check this new engine and it seems to be quite different type of programming language, I'm not sure this drastic change makes sense for my project - I just need few simple features and it seems to be overkill to do such a big transition.
if the latest asp.net package supports what I need, I can upgrade to it.
does it have the option for the drop down like my original question?
