I've been seeing this for awhile now, not just in 11.2 but it was in 11.1 and possibly earlier.
I have an icon column as the first column in my grid and when I hide it, I get a bunch of sideways text from three columns over (See attached image)
Also happens on another grid even when the icon column is not minimized.
It really throws off the row sizing too
Hello Greg,
I have been researching this issue, still I am not able to reproduce the overlapping of the columns that you are describing when I add the HideColumnIcon. I believe that the scenario that this is representable can depend on some properties that you have set, as column widths or some additional settings, so could you please provide me with a small sample with a test data where the issue is reproducible, so I can continue investigating this.
Thanks in advance.
Elena,
I have spent several hours and I am unable to get a small sample working. Even on my main project the problem comes and goes. The grid is inside a XamlTileView and I think it is a refresh issue related to the tiles animating in and out.
I have created a separate project with a xamtileview and xamgrid with the same settings and similar data but can not reproduce the problem in that project.
Greg
I was further investigating this issue and I believe that the behavior you are describing may be related to a known issue that we have already resolved and will not be presented in our new service release which will be available for pubic download according the following schedule :
http://es.infragistics.com/support/service-releases.aspx#ServiceReleases
Could you please download and install this service release when it is available and confirm if the issue still presents.
The service release appears to be late but in the meantime I have upgraded to the recently released Silverlight 5 and this may have cured the problem although I am not 100% sure yet.
Nope still there in SL5. I'll give the service release a try when it comes out.
We expect he service release to be available any time soon, so I will update right after it is available for download, so you can test the behavior with the upgrade as well.
Thank you for your patience.
Thank you very much for getting back to me. I am really glad, that this works for you.
Elena, the service release fixed the problem. It also fixes a couple other bugs we reported and also a layoutcycle exception on the grid control we hadn't gotten around to reporting.
I'm really impressed we are down to no outstanding issues with the silverlight controls at this time.
Thank you very much,
Our new service release is already out, you can download it from: https://es.infragistics.com/Membership/Default.aspx?panel=Downloads#Downloads
I'd be glad to receive a feedback on the outcome.
