could not find the file usa_st.shx

The USA map .shp and .dbf files are available in the installation. But I could not able to find the usa_st.shx file. Where I can find this file?

Please help me.

The current shapefilereader does not use the shape index file (shx). I imagine this may be why it is not included.

I am unable to open the usa_st.shp in any shapefile application. I want to customize the USA map with only divisions. Can you pls let me know where I can find the usa_st.shx file? Or where I can find usa with states shapefiles?
