xamcomboeditor selecteditem not updating

Hello, I have a xamcomboeditor set up in the following way - everything works fine except when I attempt to update the selectedinstance property from my viewmodel. When I make that update, the selected item does not change. If I then proceed to click on the comboboxes dropdown, the value is then updated. Does anyone have any idea how I can get it update automatically? thanks for any thoughts.

    Thank you for your post. I have been looking into it but it seems like that I am missing something in your scenario, so if this is still an issue for you, could you please send an isolated sample project, where the issue is reproduced, so I can investigate it further for you.
