Hi everyone,
Is there any information about using Infragistics along with the Mono platform (www.mono-project.com)? I've done some testing and the winforms controls work to some extent, but not all of them. Since we're planning on building a cross platform product, this aspect is of a big concern to my company.
Thanks in advance, -David

My company is looking to do the same thing. What experience did you have?
Thanks
Chad
Hello Infragistics,
Do you have answer on the question? This is also crucial for our company.
Hello All,
Sorry for not responding sooner to this thread. I would like to let you know that we have been working with the Mono team to make the ASP.NET toolset compatible with it. Right now, if you grab the latest branch of Mono, all the ASP.NET AJAX controls should working fine. We are targeting to have a compatible build by Mono later this year.
If you have any other questions, feel free to shoot me an email : murtazaa@infragistics.com
-Taz.
The questions in this thread mostly concerns Winforms controls, any plans to investigate the Winforms controlset on Mono?
Are there any news for Winforms controls?
I also want Infragistics WinForms for Mono ;-)
+1 on MONO. We need this for 2013. Instead of rolling out Windows Phone and HTML5, you should focus on MONO so we can easily port our applications to MAC OS. None of the tools you are rolling out are giving us the ability to expand easily into new segments without completely writing it from scratch.
We can find jquery and HTML 5 plugins WITHOUT Infragistics, but we are stuck on MACOS version.
This was introduced in 2009, COMMON!
As I know, the developers of Mono not recommend to use Windows.Forms. How about to realize Infragistics widgets based on Gtk#?This is of course more complicated than simply "convert" current WinForms controls. It would be great to have a widget similar to the functional Infragistics WinForms controls and with the same set of properties and methodsI think we're not the only organization that is interested in this and willing to buy such a decision. The problem is that at the moment there is no competition in the segment Mono widgets. Gtk-standard widgets are terrible and there are no alternatives at all.
I think money talks, so can we seriously start a fund for Infragistics to spend a quarter and convert this to Mono.
I will head start a fund with $2000. Who else is willing to donate at least $500 and up to $2000?
Drop me your email so when Infragistics is going to be ready, Ill email you
email me to myseo101 at gmail.com
I agree with what setuno said.It is that complex to rebuild WinForms Infragistics DLLs in MOMO?
Seriously... I know there is all this hype about iPhone / Android.
How many clients did you have who already use Windows Form that would want to migrate to Mac? I for one would be willing to pay extra for a Windows Form that supports Mono, and I would even be willing to support a fund raiser for it, that is how much we need it.
Versus how many clients did you have who were using anything from you for iOS or even interested in using you for iOS? Our company is not one of those clients. I bet between all of your Windows Form customers you would make more money from supporting Mono than you would from supporting iOS.
You release a new set of components to target a new market, while leaving your loyal clients in the dust to rot using a Windows Form component that can't be migrated over to Mac. If you do nothing, we will still be stuck for now until a competitor comes around.
Very very unfortunate! I hope you change your mind.
That's a huge shame. You would be opening your apps to a much bigger audience on Mac and Linux than you would on smart phones IMHO.
I would like to see the Ribbon, and basic editors done for starters (combos, labels, groups, tabs etc)
Pleeeeeeeease.... :-)
