Is there a status on this?
These are the steps I know of.
Install, force it to fail (because hours is too long), or let it run/fail overnight.
goto C:\ProgramData\Infragistics and run the MSI files for what you want.
Are you guys freeking kidding me? I would like to know if I'm missing something, if there is a new build, if this is being worked on, or what.
I think that the log was the one about the help path needing to be setup in VS. Which may or may not be relevant.
you beat me to it. I'll try the rest.
This is when I try to install from NetAdvantage_Ultimate_20111.exe, and yes we are behind a proxy server.
Hello,While we investigate the issue with downloading the service releases behind a proxy server, you can obtain the service releases directly through the website on the "My Keys and Downloads" page.
If you haven't registered your key yet, you can do that by going through to the "Support" menu option on the main www.infragistics.com page and select the "Register your product" option.
To get to the "My Keys and Downloads" page, go to "My IG" menu option and select the "My Keys and Download" option. Select the NetAdvantage 2011.1 product you've registered, and you'll have a list of the latest service releases available that you can download.
I did that some time ago...
OK I will assume that you are right, and it's all better now. Some deductive reasoning...
Infragistics was aware of an install issue, this is why it is now fixed (suposedly).
Would it have been more beneficial to just say there was a problem, we recognized it, and fixed it?
Based on the screenshot of the msi files, looks like you have initial version of the wrapper (NetAdvantage_Ultimate_20111.exe). As we have updated in some of the other forum posts regarding performance, we re-released the installer wrapper (not msi files) as part of Windows Phone release and has significantly improved the performance for installation. Since you are behind proxy server, we recommend you download the latest ultimate package for an improved performance if you are installing on new machines. Previous version in some circumstances have taken long time for some customers, but normal testing scenarios completed 21 msi files in less than 2 hours. The new wrapper takes less than one hour to complete installation of all msi files on normal circumstances. You can also just download the platform installer (self-extracting file) and replace NetAdvantage_Ultimate_20111.exe in the existing download. If you want to further discuss or for feedback, please contact me at dabraham at infragistics dot com.
I really don't mean to be rude or disrespectful. I'm just very frustrated that this is so painfull.
Would you agree that 2 hrs and 10 minutes is a little long to install just ASP.NET, ASP.NET Help, and half of APS.NET samples?
Just in...
2 hrs 19 minutes to complete just ASP.NET, ASP.NET Help, and APS.NET samples
Is this normal?
2 hrs 10 minutes later... This is after windows forms and WPF are already loaded...
