Hey,
I have been using the new controls and control configurator in the Ultimate UI for Xamarin Trial for the last week or so and I have run into the following error:
"Could not load file or assembly 'System.Collections.Immutable, Version=1.2.1.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT:0x80131040) Unable to parse control XAML. Please ensure your project build and try to configure control again."
I ran into this error when I tried to open the control configurator for a data bound pie chart. Initially, I was not able to open the control configurator for this particular pie chart (visual studio repeatedly crashed when I tried) so I removed all the XAML tags for it, including the data binding tags, and finally I was able to open the control configurator.
Once I had the control configurator open, I went to re-establish my data bindings and that was when the error presented. This error now shows up on any control that I try to data bind using the control configurator.
Please advise as to what could be causing this error and how I can avoid it in the future
Thank you!
What are the version numbers of each of the Infragistics tools you have installed?
Karl
Hey Karl,
I went through the process you outlined in your last message and I'm still receiving the same error message. Also, the step where you mentioned to check "unblock" in the ZIP file properties, there was no such option.
This is actually my second time uninstalling and reinstalling this trial, the first time I was advised that it was an installer issue and I was able to resolve the problems I was having by downloading the trial again. However, I am clearly not as lucky this time.
Is there anything else that you know could be causing this issue?
Jordan
Hi Jordan,
There is another possibility that we have seen before, the Visual Studio Extension cache is corrupted.
Please do the following:
Open VS 2017 - and using Tools, Extensions and Updates, remove each of the Infragistics extensions. Close VS 2017
Open VS 2017 Preview - and using Tools, Extensions and Updates, remove each of the Infragistics extensions. Close VS 2017 Preview
Using Control Panel, Programs, install the Infragistics Trail you installed.
Close all open applications.
Open Windows Explorer and go to your Temp folder: C:\Users\{YOUR USER NAME}\AppData\Local\Temp
Select all the files and folders and delete them.
Go to: C:\Users\{YOUR USER NAME}\AppData\Local\Microsoft\VisualStudio
You'll then see a folder with a strange name that starts with "15.0_"
Go into that folder.
Then go into the \ComponentModelCache folder
Then delete the files in this folder. (Visual Studio will rebuild this cache on startup)
Now redownload the Infragistics trial installer. DO NOT USE THE ONE YOU DOWNLOADED BEFORE.
Right click the installer ZIP file and and select properties, the click the "unblock" checkbox. Close the dialog.
Unzip and Install the trail.
Open Visual Studio. The three Infragistics extensions will automatically be updated from the Visual Studio Gallery in a minute or so. After you see that they are updated, close and reopen Visual Studio.
Now open your project and the tools should be working correctly.
Please let me know when you have everything working correctly and have a great day,
I just emailed you directly.
I was able to open all the Configurators and apply data bindings, working great.
Do you have Skype for Business or Skype?
Jordan,
If not, upload to a Google drive or similar and send me the link,
Best,
