Hello,
I need to switch the culture of the XamFormulaEditor to german, so that the user can enter numbers in the german format, the english culture seems to be default. Could you tell me how to achieve this?
Hello Marcel,
After some research, entering numbers that are culture specific such as german has been determined to be a new feature request. I have sent your feature request directly to our product management team. Our product team chooses new feature requests for development based on popular feedback from our customer base. Infragistics continues to monitor application development for all of our products, so as trends appear in requested features, we can plan accordingly.
We value your input, and our philosophy is to enhance our toolset based on customer feedback. If your feature is chosen for development, you will be notified at that time. Your reference number for this feature request is PI12100072.
If you would like to follow up on your feature request at a later point, you may contact Developer Support management via email. Please include the reference number of your feature request in the subject and body of your email message. You can reach Developer Support management through the following email address: dsmanager@infragistics.com
Thank you for your request.
Hello Duane,
Your answer is really disappointing! It feels like every second of our support requests is answered by "...this is a new feature request..." and nothing happens! We are using your controls in an important project which is already productiv. The more I get used to it I wish we wouldn't have bought your controls, sorry! And changing the culture of a control should be implemented for every control by default!
So is there no workaround how we can handle this? It's really hard to tell the users they have to use other number formats in the formula editor than in the XamDataGrid, where we use the xamFormulaEditor for! And also if you really release this feature in the future we still would face the problem that we have saved our thousands of formulas with the wrong formats in the database and need to convert all old formulas!
Thanks for the feedback.
Currently in the xamFormulaEditor uses invariant culture when editing which is independent to a particular culture. I have addressed this issue to product management and engineering.
Let me know if I can provide any further assistance.
Could you tell me when this issue will be fixed? One of your colleagues told me that you plan to intigrate the XamFormulaEditor into the XamDataGrid for the next NetAdvantage release 2012.2. I think by that release this issue has to be fixed at the latest, or not? Do you know when this version will be released?
In 12.2 still uses invariant culture, plans for allowing culture specific number formats is expected in 13.2 at the earliest.
