Undesired rerendering of the entire XamnetworkNode Control when a new node/conection is added/removed.
posted

Hi!

I was working on a problem of adding nodes dynamically. In this case the re-rendering of the entire XNN becomes an issue for the user, as after adding a node the user would want to work on the node  or may expect a consistent look where, he/she can work, without having to again search for the node-set he was working on.

One way ofcourse is to write our own algorithm and replace Xnn's. But this is not I would prefer as the default algorithm works great except for this case.

Can anyone explain a way to achieve it with minimal coding.

    Hello Girish,

Thank you for your post. I have been researching the functionality that you are looking for and also contacted our development team and it seems that currently the XamNetworkNode will re-render its nodes and connections when a modification is made.  I have submitted a new Product Idea, for you, for the XamNetworkNode control to keep the current position of the nodes when items are manipulated. I have sent your Product Idea directly to our product management team.  Our product team chooses new Product Ideas for development based on popular feedback from our customer base.  Infragistics continues to monitor application development for all of our products, so as trends appear in requested ideas, we can plan accordingly.

We value your input, and our philosophy is to enhance our toolset based on customer feedback.  If your idea is chosen for development, you will be notified at that time.  Your reference number for this Product Idea is PI12090015

If you would like to follow up on your Product Idea at a later point, you may contact Developer Support management via email.  Please include the reference number of your Product Idea in the subject and body of your email message.  You can reach Developer Support management through the following email address:  dsmanager@infragistics.com
