I have been looking through your post and I suggest you add the following Style in the App.xaml file Resources in order to remove the drop indicators of the XamDataGrid

<Style TargetType="{x:Type igWindows:DropIndicator}">
    <Setter Property="Template" >
        <Setter.Value>
            <ControlTemplate/>
        </Setter.Value>
    </Setter>
</Style>
