Create a gallery with a multi state button

The gallery tool seems to have two states

GalleryToolItemBehavior.StateButton

and 

GalleryToolItemBehavior.Button

Is there any way to create a gallery where the items are state buttons, but you can have many of them selected at the same time?

We want to use the gallery to define a list of views.  But these views aren't exclusive.  More than one of them can be on at the same time.

 

Any ideas?

    We have the same problem - wanted to have the state buttons as large buttons in the preview area. This seems not to be possible. Current workaround for us is to have the buttons in the dropdown section of the gallery and have just one placeholder image above. This is a bit inconvenient.

    I tried several things with scrollbars and wrappanels and buttons, but this did not work out with reasonable amount of work.
