Dear Andrew,
sorry, but I have got another question regarding your Ribbon. In order to make it easier, I'm just referring to your "Feature Browser Sample".
Take a look at your sample with the Contextual Tab. Select the second Tab "Insert" and then select some Text. The Contextual Tab is now shown. BUT the ribbon activated the First Tab in the Ribbon.
This behaviour would not be acceptable. Becuase I'm not able to finde any code in your sample, where you explicitely activate the first Tab, it might be a bug or an unwanted behaviour.
If you will compare this with MS-Word 2007 you will see, that word will not change the Tab automatically
Steps to reproduce in Word: Insert a Shape of your choice. De-Select the shape. Select a Tab of your choice, except the first one. Now click on the shape. Contextual will be shown AND the selected Tab will NOT be changed.
Just selecting another tab will cause some errors in my code, becuase I'm trying to have the Ribbon with some tabs in a Main.exe and some further tabs from several DLLs implemented with the MEF (Addon-System). So selecting other tabs from the Main-application will need some invokes, probably. Actually I don't now, so that's the reason why I'm referring to the Feature Browser Sample.
Thanks a lot in advance for a soon reply,
Jens Duczmal
Actually its interesting timing because a related issue was reported internally just recently. This issue has already been addressed internally and the fix will be included in the next hotfix. I'll see about getting a case created for you so you can be notified when the hotfix is available.
Hehe :)
So, I'm happy that the reason is not me, but the Ribbon itself. A Hotfix would be very appreciated, especially because as long as I know, the Order for the Net-Advantage should be on the way to you.
Hi Jens,
I was trying to create a case to address the issue you brought up here. If you can email support@infragistics.com I can walk you though creating a vaid ID that we can link to the case.
Put a link back to the forum post in your email so we can connect you email to this post.
Thanks,
Marianne
