I might be missing something here, but I can't seem to find the downloadable documentation (CHM, PDF, VS2008) anymore. I'm pretty sure it used to be under "Downloads" (for the WPF stuff anyway), but now all I can find is a link to online documentation...Doesn't seem to be part of the installation either.
Thanks,Michel
Hi Michel,
When you log into My IG please perform the following:
1. Click on the appropriate Tab for your purchased product (i.e. NetAdvantage, TestAdvantage, Java).
2. Click the link for your purchased product. You will then see a section called Document and SDK, this is where you will be able to download the documentation in .PDF format as well as download the Help Installer.
Ah, thanks! I'm still getting acquainted with "My IG" - I usually just downloaded those from the main product page, where the links are no longer available.
It seems that - for WPF at least - the CHM help file is no longer available? I could only find the VS integrated help and the PDF...
Unfortunately the integrated help and the PDF format are the only available formats we provide the documentation in for all products; however, feel free to convert it into another format if you like.
Damn... There goes the productivity (PDF=practically useless, VS integrated = not as good as it should be.) I guess I'll hold on to that CHM file that was available with the WPF 8.1 stuff.
Michel,
I'm curious as to why you thing the VS integrated help isn't as good as the CHM. In the past the CHM and VS help that were made available contained the same content. We decided that going forward we would only offer the VS format, but if we would have made a CHM the content would be exactly the same as what's in the VS format that's available.
Did you just prefer the CHM because of its portability? In addition, what would you like to see our Help PDFs contain to make them more useful?
I was looking for the same CHM ... PDF is not the most used item to look up for help anyways for a programmer because of the navigation issues. CHM and VS help give you links between related pages that is easier to navigate. First time users would like to have a PDF to start reading from the basics page by page but programmers [atleast me & Michel] prefer to use the CHM/VS Help.
Note that the documentation is provided in a newer help format than CHM, but still provides similar functionality and integration with Visual Studio. From the startmenu, if you navigate to the NetAdvantage folder in Program Files, you'll see the link to the help file. It's no longer a classic .CHM, but will still launch in an indexed, user friendly format using the same help viewer as Microsoft's .NET Framework Documentation. We also have help content available in PDF, or you can view the help online at http://help.infragistics.com.
Thank you !!
Hey guys,
The WPF Help has been bundled together with the 2008 V3 NetAdvantage release. Here is where to get it:
These pages:
· http://es.infragistics.com/dotnet/netadvantage.aspx#Downloads
…contain links to the NetAdvantage 2008.3 product docs:
The zip file contains the WPF Help:
I'm asking around now for the help download link for trial customers. Looks like an oversight, I'll post a link here as soon as I get it.
I do not find the link to the documentation in My Keys and Downloads page. I can just download the NetAdvantage 2008 there. Do I have purchase documentation separately ??
If the documentation isn't showing up in the start menu, it probably hasn't been installed yet. It's a separate installer, that ships with NetAdvantage for WPF in the Bundle download, or can be downloaded separately from the Infragistics My Keys and Downloads page. Give that a try, and let me know if you still have trouble getting the local documentation up and running!
