Tooltip of ApplicationMenu2010Item will popup when mouse hover on the control in ApplicationMenu2010Item.Content

I find that ApplicationMenu2010Item will popup when mouse hover on the control in ApplicationMenu2010Item.Content. In following snapshot, I add a tooltip for 'Info'. When I move the mouse to the content of ApplicationMenu2010Item, it popup the tooltip

I change code like:

<igRibbon:ApplicationMenu2010Item KeyTip="I" ToolTip="AAA"
Header="{Binding Source={StaticResource RibbonStrings}, Path=XWR_Info}">

I think you can reproduce the behavior in your sample code

Is there anyway to stop the behavior? It is strange to user.

Hello Shengjie, If you wish to show a tooltip only on a menu item header, I suggest you re-template ApplicationMenu2010Item style and set up ToolTip...view reply »

Let me add more information about why ApplicationMenu2010Item.Tooltip works in the current way here.

ApplicationMenu2010Item is a HeaderedContentControl (which is a derived ContentControl). The Content of a WPF ControlControl is a logical child of that ContentControl and WPF tends to prefer the logical tree for things such as inherited property inheritance and event bubbling. So that is why the tooltip of the ApplicationMenu2010Item is displayed when hovering over the Content. The same exact thing happens if you try this with a TabItem within the MS TabControl. One way it won’t happen is if the Content is not a logical child – e.g. the Content is some data item and one uses the ContentTemplate to define the visuals. Another might be to set the HeaderTemplate and put the template on something within that instead but note that means the tooltip will display when over that element and not necessarily within the entire ApplicationMenu2010Item.

So basically this behavior of Tooltip property is expected and is not something controlled by ApplicationMenu2010Item itself.
What I can suggest you is to submit a feature request to the product team. For this particular case, it can be something like adding a new property HeaderToolTip to ApplicationMenu2010Item.
You can make this request through <www.infragistics.com/.../ideas>.
