The initial layout of arranging overlapping items of a callout layer seems to be...
go to left and bottom until not overlapping
Is there a way to Control this behavior to be more symmetric as in this example from another graph Control.
...I meant the other direction (right)
Hello Horst,
Currently the callout layer a bit randomly determines the positions of the callouts so as they do not collide with each other so as to keep the collision check from being a pull on performance.
After investigating this and doing some research, to have it so the callouts don’t collide with the line/data and/or appear in a straight line with each other has been determined to be a product idea. You can suggest new product ideas for future versions (or vote for existing ones) at <www.infragistics.com/.../ideas>.
Submitting your idea will allow you to communicate directly with our product management team, track the progress of your idea at any time, see how many votes it got, read comments from other developers in the community, and see if someone from the product team has additional questions for you.
Remember when submitting your idea to explain the context in which a feature would be used and why it is needed as well as anything that would prevent you from accomplishing this today. You can even add screenshots to build a stronger case. Remember that for your suggestion to be successful, you need other members of the community to vote for it. You can also link back to this thread for additional details.
Thank you in advance to submitting your product idea.
Hello Mike,
there is already a property dealing with this issue
CalloutCollisionMode
could you please add some comments on this. I see no effect seting the property to any different Setting.
The documentation on this matter is virtually not existing.
regards Horst
Thank you for the update.
That specific property is for collision with other callouts not for collision with the plotted chart, nor does it determine how the callout layer items will be laid out. As for more details on this property you can see the settings it takes and the description of what the different settings do here:www.infragistics.com/.../infragisticswpf.controls.charts.xamdatachart~infragistics.controls.charts.calloutcollisionmode
Thanks for the hint. It seems to me that the target function for the optimization algorithm(s) is a little "right side prefering". I consider this as a bug/issue.
Thank you for the update. Currently the Callout Layer is performing as expected. If you would like to see additional functionality added to the Callout Layer I recommend you submit a product idea.
it is not a product idea it is an Observation to improve Ifragistics components. It is not a good habit of the service team to always propose to submit a product idea if the documentation is poor and the product is not good tested.
Regards Horst
