In order to display a XamDataTree inside the dropdown of the combo editor, I can suggest you retemplate the control by using its default style and implement the necessary logic for the synchronization between the controls.

Having a XamDataTree as the content of the combo editor's dropdown has been determined to be a product idea. You can suggest new product ideas for future versions by emailing ideas@infragistics.com.
