I installed the trial version of 2008.1 CLR2.0 to upgrade from 2006.1 CLR2.0 and every control that i have tested so far has worked. They have all given me a message box that says how many usage days/weeks I have left but when I drag the ultrachart control onto a form I get this error:
Failed to create component 'UltraChart'. The error message follows:
'Sysytem.ComponentModel.LicenseException: No license information found at Infragistics.Win.UltraWinChart.WinChartHelper.Shared.UltraLicenseProvider.GetDesignTimeLicense(Type type, Object instance, Boolean allowExceptions, UltraLicenseBaseAttribute licenseAttribute)
I was planning on buying .Net winforms next week but without a successful upgrade I will not be able to purchase anything...any help at this point would be great...Jamie
try running regedit.exe and manually entering the registry keys. you can see what the keys are by viewing the .reg file as text.
According to "Step 3" in the above link, it says to export two registry keys from HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes. First of all, these keys do not exist here. They are in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT. Second, after exporting these two keys and editing both files per "Step 7", attempting to merge these files per "Step 8" produces an error - "Cannon import C:\Users\tpierpoint. TPIERPOINT-PC\Desktop\Infragistics.reg: Error accessing the registry."
Does anybody have a suggestion?
Thanks,Todd
This is the response I got when I emailed customer service...it worked great!
Further, the "No license information found" error indicates that the licensing information in the registry is not present or cannot be read. If you are using a different account then the account which installed the product, then I would suggest you to refer to the following Knowledge Base article at:< http://devcenter.infragistics.com/Support/KnowledgeBaseArticle.Aspx?ArticleID=10023>Also, I would suggest you to Set "Full Control" on the following key in the registry for the "Everyone" group: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\InfragisticsVisual Studio must be restarted for any registry permission changes to take affect.
that error message usually indicates a missing registry key somewhere under [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Infragistics\NetAdvantage]. i haven't heard this issue reported with our 2008.1 installer, but our support team might know better than me about an issue like that, so you might want to contact Infragistics Developer Support about it.
my best guess at a solution is to uninstall and reinstall NetAdvantage.
