Hi
I currently have 5.2 version.
What is the easiest way of upgrading my project to the newer component.
HI,
you can download the latest version of NetAdvantage 8.1
Go to www.infragistics.com - mouse over "Get Infragistics" mouse over "Download" - then click on "Trial" - you will be at the download page and you will see all the latest trial downloads.
As far as the older version of NetAdvantage - you will need to contact sales. mailto:Sales@Infragistics.com
Hi,
I think i have a similar situation where I "inherited" a big application created with the 5.2 NetAdvantage a few years back. I'd like to do the "baby-steps" you advised as the company now wants to do an upgrade, however, I don't have the 6.2, 7.2, and 8.1 versions of NetAdvantage. Is there a way for me to download (trial versions?) these products and find out if its worth the time and effort to do the upgrade?
The current development machine has Vista and VS2005 installed. I get the "infragistics unable to locate license assembly" error whenever i try to compile or open the forms in design mode.
There is a project upgrade utility that you can use to upgrade your project to a newer version. You should run this when you install a hotfix or want to upgrade your project to a new version. The most current version of NetAdvantage is 8.1 CLR 2.0 . This might be too much of a jump for your application. If you want to upgrade to 8.1 ( you dont have to .. you can upgrade to 6.2 or 7. 2) then you might want to consider baby stepping this transitions, by upgrading in steps (upgrading to 6.2 - 7-2 then 8.1 and working out any issues at each step).
