Im new to Infragistics and nowadays exploring it. When we're adding any tool to the ribbon there is an option "Category". I want to know the significance of assigning "Category" to a tool. Waiting anxiously for the answers....
The Category is used in the run-time customization dialog to group similar tools together. Its just a way for you to organize your tools for the user so they're easier to find. To see what I mean, right-click a toolbar at run-time and select 'Customize...' from the context menu. Click the 'Commands' tab in the Customize dialog and there is an area labeled 'Categories'. Any categories you assign to a tool will appear in this list and only the tools with that category assigned will appear in the commands list when the category is selected.
