First off I'm using Windows 7, VS 2008, with Infragistics 2009.2.
Dual Monitor setup. If I've posted this in the wrong location. Please advise where it should be posted.
This anomaly occurs with several of your controls. When I'm at work everything works fine using two monitors, but when I take my laptop home and then try to access any of your popup windows associated with your controls and the last time I viewed that window on the other monitor, I cannot move that window to the laptop screen. Do you have a work around? Windows will only move a form and/or window if its a program window.
If I forget to set your popup windows on the laptop screen I'm toast when I try again at home with only the one monitor. Any help would greatly be appreciated. (and yes another monitor at home would help, but I'm not there yet).
Thanks,
Patrick
Hey Petar,
That works when at home with just the laptop, but here's something else I discovered.
When you have two monitors, Windows 7 and you have initially setup the laptop as the main monitor, and then decide to make the 2nd monitor the main screen. Then right click on your "UltraToolBarManager" and decide to either use the "Customize" and/or Custom Property pages" (Visual Studio is running on the 2nd monitor, and had been on the laptop monitor when setup initially), your popup page is no where to be found!!
Solution: You have to setup everything as it was in the beginning, right click on your "UltraToolBarManager" and select either popup, the form will appear on your 2nd monitor (that was where I last left it) move it, and then set your monitors up with the 2nd one as the main one.
I'm not sure, but you may want to include a way to move the forms when appearing outside the view of either monitor.
I apoligize for this sounding confusing, but! It is!
Anyway thanks again.
Thanks for your response. I'll give this a try.
Hello Patrick,
I have been looking into your issue and had been able to reproduce something similar with both our components and with some Visual Studio windows and popups. I had come across this since I myself use 2 additional monitors via a docking station. I am not sure if we can control this behavior inside Visual Studio but I can suggest how you can solve it yourself. When docking/undocking or plugging in/out a monitor pretty much nothing changes in your computer and OS and though the coordinates that these popups are located at are no longer visible they still exist. If you were to change your desktop resolution all of the desktop dimensions and locations have to be recalculated and everything should be placed in the visible part of your screen. I overcame this issue by downloading some docking/undocking drivers for my laptop and all this is done automatically along with some extras like preserving locations and resolutions for both states.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.
Sincerely,
Petar Monov
