I need to change the color of a ComboBoxTool (it is in DropdownList mode) on my toolbar but the Roles that look like they should handle that do not work.
I saw another post that said you have to set the Style of the UltraToolbarMgr to something other than 'Default' before you can change the color of the ComboBox. Mine is set to WindowsVista ... but it still doesn't work.
If I set ToolbarItemComboBox Normal or HotTrack Backcolor it displays a thin horizontal line of that color both above and below the combobox - but it does not change the back color of the box itself.[I dont want to change the part that changes - just the box itself - and the dropdown buton)
If I set ToolBarEditAreaComboBox it has no effect at all.(This may be correct since there is no Edit area in a dropdown list.)
This looks like a bug to me, but maybe I am missing a role that simply isn't obvious.(Mousing over the control with AppStylist Runtime only indicates these 2 roles however.)
ThanksMike
Hello Mike,
I am just checking the progress of this issue and was wonderring if you manged to overcome this or if you need any furhter assistance on the matter.
If my suggestion solved your issue please verify the answer so other users may take better advantage of it.
Kind regards Petar.
I have been looking into your issue and all the roles actually work, but are hidden behind the Windows Vista’s combo, which places a big button to fill up the whole combo. What you read in the other post is correct, but have missed out the fact that the Windows Vista style is actually the default one so you haven’t change pretty much anything. The Windows Vista style places an appearance resource of sort over all buttons and this is why you can’t see the changes you have made to it as well.
Hope this makes things clearer. Let me know if you require further assistance on the matter.
Sincerely,
Petar Monov
