Something recently went wrong w/ my visual studio 2005 install and a repair didn't quite do the job. I've always been able to drop a control from the toolbox visually edit the size/shape of my controls using the mouse, but how it seems like I have to do everything the hard way. It's only happening w/ my Infragistic controls, so maybe you can help. I'm currently running .NetAdvantage 2007 Vol 3 CLR 2.0.  One thing of note is that prior to whatever happened, the infragistics controls did not appear in the small gray area underneath.
