We need the ultraComboEditor to have a drop down, but the user not be able to type in its text box. We set it readonly property, but it does not drop down.
Can you think of a way to make it possible, or simulate the situation? Because it is most definitely something we need to do.
In our case, the user is going into a contract that has been "booked" and can no longer be changed. However, they still want to be able to open up the dropdown and see what they've selected, because the values that have been selected in the dropdown (there may be multiple) may not fit in the space of the combo box text.
Perhaps there is a different way to do what we're trying to do, but we need to have the user be able to multiple select from several values, but we don't have the screen real estate to show them all of those values in a listbox or tree or anything. That's why we went with the drop down, as then we only show the possible values when the user clicks the drop down, and we don't have to have that real estate in our actual app.
Are you saying you want the user to be able to drop down the list but not to select a value from the list? I don't think that's possible.
If you want the user to only be able to select from the list, but not type into the combo, then the property you are looking for is DropDownStyle.
