Any way to change the close box image?

I can't seem to find any way to change the close box image on a tab. Is there a way to do this? The CloseButtonAppearance appears to give you some small bit of control on the close box, such as alpha, but selecting an image in the CloseButtonAppearance has no effect. Likewise, I found nothing in AppStylist to change the image. Thanks, Bill Hayden

That was it. I was able to see what you were mentioning. To get rid of the X, set the image.alpha to transparent.

My best guess is that it seems to depend on whether system themes are turned on. Your isl works for me, but doing the same step in my isl does not work. Try this: create a new style set, turning off system themes. Then use your steps and I believe you'll see the black X I'm talking about, and which I can't seem to get rid of. Thanks, Bill

I set the image property for the background and did not see a black x. I attached my isl.

Excellent! However I can't now find a way to get rid of the black X over the image. My image is the whole button, not just the background for the X (and my X is not black). Did I do it right? I changed the TabCloseButton background image property. The image property (in the Image sub-panel) seemed to do nothing at all. Thanks

In AppStyling go to the Tabs tab in the Canvas. There is a Canvas Options dropdown over the canvas tabs. Go to close buttons and set the Close Button Location property. Hover over close button and hit "1" for The close button ui role. On the left in the UI Role tree, go up the chain until you see the TabCloseButton UI element. Set the Image property for the Normal, HotTracked, and Pressed settings for that UI Role.
