Showing an application throbber while data is being accessed and loaded

We have a large amount of data to be processed and brought over from the backend. While this is happening, I would like to show a a large spinning wheel throbber (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Throbber#Spinning_wheel) overlay the application window.

How do I achieve this? Ideally I want to have the overlaying throbber still show the application window in the background, kind of in a translucent mode that I have seen elsewhere

Hi,
Your question is a bit open-ended. What part of this in particular is giving you trouble?
It seems like this would be fairly straightfoward using the AnimationControl.

Right, I can provide the author with exaple. However I would like to ask you a question concerning ControlAnimation on Vista machine. This control works fine on XP machine but I see nothing on Vista. Does it work for Vista? I'm using Net Adv. 2008. vol. 2 + HotFix Thanks.

Alex, I have not yet go around to working on this. So if you have an example you could post or send a link to, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks Talloula. This is a good one. I am trying to put a plain spinning wheel throbber like we see so commonly these days. For example, when a video is loading on youtube, you see that throbber.

Any suggestions?
