Why has my application changed from the Office 2003 blue color scheme to a flat, gray color scheme. All I did was upgrade from 20082 to 20083. What the hell?
This bug has been submitted and fixed and will be available in the next hotfix. If you want to be notified when that becomes available, you can submit this to the support group: http://es.infragistics.com/gethelp and reference issue 11276.
I experience the same bug. I just converted one of my projctes from 7.1 to 8.3 and my Office 2003 look of the toolbars manager and the dock manager vanished (changed to grey, flat).

In that case, it appears there may be a different bug with determining the current theme being used. I would recommend submitting the issue to the support group: http://es.infragistics.com/gethelp.
No, I'm not using Royale or Zune themes. It's set to the standard theme, I only changed the background. The "Appearence" for windows is set to Aero, and glass is enabled.
Office 2003 looks just fine on my computer.. that is, it's the blue color scheme that the UltraGrid still correctly displays. Also, setting Office 2007 results in an Office 2007 color scheme (which I am also familar with because I have 2007 at home, but 2003 at work).
So, this is not a feature, it's a bug... when I pick Office 2003, I expect the blue color scheme of Office 2003.
Please see the attached file and notice Outlook 2003 is correctly set to the blue color scheme.
I am guessing you use the Royale or Zune themes on your machine. A bug was fixed in 8.3. Previously, when using one of the themes provided by Microsoft which wasn't one of the Luna themes (XP blue, green, or silver), the Infragistics controls incorrectly assumed the current theme was Luna Blue, and chose colors for controls with an Office2003 view style that were based on this incorrect assumption. Now the colors chosen for toolbars should look more like Office 2003 does on your machine and not how it would on a machine with the Windows XP style blue color. So the behavior you are seeing is technically correct. However, you can submit a feature request for the ability to override the color scheme used for Office2003 view styles and force it to look the way it does with a certain Microsoft theme: http://devcenter.infragistics.com/Protected/RequestFeature.aspx. That way, you can have the blue look for you app, regardless of the machine it is run on.
