Infragistics.Practices.CompositeUI.WinForms source code available?
posted

Hi All,

In the project I work on we have a very old WinForms client application which uses Infragistics 11.2 controls.

Currently the whole solution is being converted to net 7. This may include the UI part though not necessarily because the lifetime of that old UI is limited, it will be retired in a couple of years. It will only be done if the efforts required are reasonable. I downloaded the trial of Ultimate UI and trying to estimate how complex it may be to convert that old app.

Unfortunately the app uses Microsoft.Practices.CompositeUI library, long deprecated and Infragistics.Practices.CompositeUI.WinForms based on that library. I do understand that the Infragistics library is not supported anymore. But the fastest way to convert the app would be to take the source code and compile the minimum required part of it to net 7. Microsoft part is less of a pb because there is a community project converting it to net core/7.

Are there source codes for Infragistics.Practices.CompositeUI.WinForms available?

If conversion of the app can be done in a reasonable amount of time buying 1-2 licenses of Infragistics Ultimate Ui wouldn't be an issue.

Thanks!

    Hello Artem,

The Infragistics CompositeUI stuff was discontinued in version 14.2, and so if you upgrade to a more recent version, the source code for that will not be available there. If you have version 11.2 installed though, you already have the ability to install the source code for the CompositeUI CAB toolset. The source code for this will be installed to the following directory by default:

    C:\Users\Public\Documents\Infragistics\<version>\Windows Forms\CAB Extensibility Kit\Source

Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns on this matter.
