Hi,

Is there any way to add custom control (like a button) into a cell in Summary Row of the grid?

Hello Colin,

I suggest you using UltraGrid’s MouseEnterElement and MouseLeaveElement events to detect when a mouse hovers over the button.

Below is the example. It changes the background image of the button on the summary value cell when you mouse over it.

        private void ultraGrid1_MouseEnterElement(object sender, UIElementEventArgs e)
        {
            UIElement element = e.Element;

            if (null == element)
                return;

            if ((element is ButtonUIElement) && (element.Parent is SummaryValueUIElement))
            {
                (element as ButtonUIElement).Appearance.ImageBackground = your_hover_image;
            }
        }

        private void ultraGrid1_MouseLeaveElement(object sender, UIElementEventArgs e)
        {
            UIElement element = e.Element;

            if (null == element)
                return;

            if ((element is ButtonUIElement) && (element.Parent is SummaryValueUIElement))
            {
                (element as ButtonUIElement).Appearance.ImageBackground = your_normal_image;
            }
        }

Can you please try the following to see if it meets your requirement?

var button = new ButtonUIElement(parent);
button.Rect = new Rectangle(buttonLocation, buttonSize);
button.Appearance = new Infragistics.Win.Appearance();
button.Appearance.ImageBackground = summaryButton.Image;
button.Appearance.ThemedElementAlpha = Alpha.Transparent;

Hi,

I can add the button now. But I am not sure if Appearance object works with ButtonUIElement. I try to set the Appearance.Image, but it is not working.

var button = new ButtonUIElement(parent);

Hello Colin,

Thank you for posting in our forum.

UltraGrid does not have a functionality to embed a custom control in a summary cell.

However, you might be able to use a CreationFilter to manipulate the UIElements and add a button element to a summary cell element.
