Bands and RowIslands Definition Needed

I'm getting a bit confused here. Can someone please check my understanding of this.

A Band is basically the level in the hierarchy

RowIslands are groups of rows in a band ?

Is there a chart with the hierarchy in?

Hello Soberly,

A Band object represents all the data islands belonging to a level in the hierarchy.

A ContainerGrid object exposes the Bands property of type BandCollection containing the different data bands in the control.

If you have a data source with a parent-child relationship, WebHierarchicalDataGrid's Bands collection will contain 1 Band object for the child data;

the parent band is WebHierarchicalDataGrid itself and settings on this object will apply to only the parent data level.

RowIslands is a collection of row islands or child ContainerGrids

and ContainerGrid is used for representing a row island of the WebHierarchicalDataGrid
