I am using VS 2005 with NetAdvantage 8.1. I would like to know if there is NetAdvantage tool that can simplify sending a string of text directly to printer. In this case the text string is just an ASCII text with data pulled from .aspx text boxes and other controls and codes intepreted by special FedEx label printer in order to print a shipping label with a printer created OCR barcode. The printer does all the formatting and bar code rendering based on the data. It works well from the legacy Visual Foxpro app I am converting, however I am having difficulty in finding a way to a send the string from a .aspx page without employing a ton of code I don't need in configuring the output. It occurred to me I might already have the tool do what I want in with NetAvantage without resorting to the printdocument class.
Hi Ron
I'm tracking down people who mention foxpro in a forum post. Are you interested in exchanging ideas/discoveries re transitioning from VFP to .net?
