I have researched your scenario and there does not seem to be away to format the editing value of a cell as per your requirement witout using a WebDateChooser. If you need to use the editor to appear as a regular editing cell, you can hide its dropdown button. For instance:

    .disableDropDown 
    {
        display:none;
    } 
    </style>
        <igsch:WebDateChooser ID="WebDateChooser1" runat="server" 
            DropDownAlignment="Center">
            <DropButton ImageUrlDisabled="/">
                <Style CssClass="disableDropDown">
                </Style>
            </DropButton>
        </igsch:WebDateChooser>

Please note that the UltraWebGrid control is now outdated and as of .NetAdvantage 2011 Volume 2 is no longer included in our product package. I would suggest that you consider switching to the WebDataGrid/WebHieararchicalDataGrid. More information regarding these controls is available at:
