Upgrade to 10.3 cannot use new tools

I am using vs.2008 and workingin an ASP web project. I had Infragistics 9.2 installed and running fine. I upgraded to 10.3 and also ran the version utility on my project to update the controls already  there to latest version. I installed the 10.3 controls in the toolbox as well with no problem. Now when I try to drag a 10.3 control onto a page (in design mode) i get a pop up box that says "The operation could not be completed. Invalid FORMATETC structure"

I tried many of the suggested solutions other people have posted on the internet with no luck. Any ideas?

    Update to this post. I tried a opening a new project website with no other infragistics controls in the project at all. I dragged a WebDataTree onto page with no problem, but it seems anything that trying to drag any other Infragistics control (even webdatatree) gives the above error. ughhh!
