Paging causes grid to be empty on a new databinding

I have the following problem:

1. when i bind the first time I have 5 pages.

2. I click on page 5.

3. I filter and there is only 1 page.

4. The paging stays on the non existing page 5 and the grid is empty

5. I click on page 1

6. my results appear

So a temporary workaround would be to programmatically go to page one when the filter button is clicked.

How would I acomplish this?
