No, the link you offered doesn't show how to handle CellValueChanging at the server. It is about RowUpdated. (Maybe the article at that link has changed since 2011.)

So I'm still wondering... and searching...

You didn't mention on which control,

but from the "cell" I suppose that it's for WebDataGrid, or WHDG.
