Version Utility
posted

The 'project upgrade utility' seems to have been replaced by the 'version utility'. There is now the ability to upgrade a whole solution. Unfortunately this does not seem to work with projects that contain both C++ and C# projects. In the old utility it was possible to select multiple projects and upgrade all of them in one go. This feature is now missing. The path though the new utility allowing another project to be selected after a project has been upgraded is not obvious at first sight. There is a nice big button to close the utility and only a line of underlined text to start another upgrade.

The new utility may look very nice but this seems to be a case of style over substance.

I'm sorry to hear that you had issues with the Version Utility when working with solutions with C++ and C# projects in them.  This was reported to our development team an a fix has been found. The fix should be resolved in the first product SRs.

Thank you for your feedback about the flow and UI confusion. I've passed them along to our development/interactive teams.
