WebDropDown in a RowEditingTemplate

I have a WebDropDown in a RowEditingTemplate in a WebDataGrid.  I placed one item in the dropdown and have it as selected.  DisplayMode is DropDownList, EnableAutoCompleteFirstMatch is false, EnableDropDownAsChild is true.  When the RowEditingTemplate pops up and I click the dropdown button, I get a javascript error at :  _onFocusHandler : function(evnt)

error =   'this._elements.Input.id' is null or not an object

I'm using 9.1 CLR3.5.
