hi Team,
I am using WebDataGrid in my Asp.Net project for displaying backend database records on UI grid.
this WebDataGrid commes under Namespace - > Infragistics.Web.UI.GridControls WeDataGrid
Version - > 19.1.20191.115
To arranging the columns order in WebDataGrid i am using property VisibleIndex.
but when data get displayed on ui Grid it's not displaying columns as per order set by property - > VisibleIndex
This is the main issue which i am facing now and i want to resolve this ASAP.
Do i need to update version here ?
if yes please suggest the version ?
Please look into this issue on high priority and suggest some quick solutions.
Hello Nitesh,
In order to change the positions of the column in “WebDataGrid” you must set “AutoGenerateColumns” property to “False” (columns should be specified from designer or in .aspx source) and add the property in the markup – VisibleIndex =”yourDesiredIndex”, additionally the same could be done in code:
var column = WebDataGrid1.Columns[1];
column.VisibleIndex = 2;
Please note that changing the visible index would not change the column index, which is the index by which they are defined in the columns collection.
Let me know if you need any further assistance.

hi Ivan Kitanov,
All the below property value is already set.
AutoGenerateColumns property is set as False in markup and .aspx c# code
also VisibleIndex property value is set on both markup and .aspx c# code.
in my application in .aspx C# code side i am just changing column's VisibleIndex property.
but still i am facing same issue.
Please check below response return by Chat GPT that VisibleIndex property is not supported by version - > 19.1.20191.115Please look into this on priority.
Thanks,
Nitesh J
I would like to confirm that the VisibleIndex property is present in version 19.1, so this should not be the issue.
Could you please share your makup/C# code, so I can check if any properties you set are causing the issue?
Additionally, I am sending a small sample that sets VisibleIndex of the columns and there are no issues on my side when I try setting it in code or in markup.
Please test the sample on your side and let me know if you there are any issues with it. If this is not an accurate demonstration of what you are trying to achieve, please feel free to modify it and send it back to me along with steps to reproduce. Alternatively, if the behavior cannot be replicated, please feel free to provide your own sample. Remove any external dependencies and code that is not directly related to the issue, zip your application and attach it in this post.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
