Why all documentation refers to a SQLDataSource?

I'm using a DataListSource so i don't want any f**** postbacks on every action and even with EnableAjax is set to false just keeps refreshing page.

Is there any documentation that just don't only talks about SqlDataSource because is it's prefered statement and says what functions of javasript framework are getting called?

In the documentation says that IList are enabled as a valid dataSource but is no documentation about their funcionality. Any help?

What I'm trying to achieve:

Have a webdatagrid where there is only pure javascript i add rows, edit them and delete them an on a button postback click save them entirely, but the webdatagrid keeps doing AsyncCalls....
