Could not load file or assembly error
posted

I copied a DNN site from a working production server to a virtual dev server.  The dev server does not have any version of infragistics installed.  It may have temporarily had a NetAdvantage trial installed but doesn't anymore.  When I try to browse to the site I receive the error below.  Its a DNN site without any infragistics controls. There are no references to the assemblies in my web.config, global or machine.config.  Where is it trying to load the infragistic assemblies from?  I have deleted the framework 2.0 temp folders and issued the IISRESET command and even rebooted the virtual server.

BTW I also get the error from the empty default website too.

Thanks,

    Hello,

We've had exactly the same problem, although the version of Infragistics was different. Here is an excerpt from the email I received today from our client:

"I have good news. I was able to sit down with NSU and we purged the ASP.NET temp files and found an orphan config file that was sitting two directories up. Not sure how IIS picked it up but it did. So, we got the server back to normal. I have re-run the latest installer and so far everything seems ok. I plan to continue to monitor the site over the weekend. If everything seems ok by Monday I will set up moving it to production."

    Hope, this helps.

    Alex, RJN GROUP.
