Hi,
I want to use "infragistics reporting" tool in new visual studio 2015. It looks like the latest version was included only in 2014.2 not 2015.1 versions?? How can I integrate and use report designer in VS 2015 with Infragistics Ultimate Kit 2015.1 installed on my PC (or combination with 2014.2 & 2015.1) ???
Currently I'm not able to get designer in VS 2015 :(
Thank you!
Hello Nikolay,
Thank you for your post!
The Infragistics Reporting tool version 2014.2 was actually the final version for Infragistics Reporting, as it was retired prior to the 2015.1 product being released. When a new version of Visual Studio releases, we modify our release to work with that particular version of Visual Studio. Since Infragistics Reporting was retired prior to Visual Studio 2015 being released though, this tool will not be supported by Visual Studio 2015.
You can read more about the retirement of Infragistics Reporting and its replacement due out later this year at this site: http://es.infragistics.com/community/blogs/jason_beres/archive/2015/04/13/product-status-change-notification-infragistics-reporting.aspx.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns on this matter.

Greetings!
I am having the same trouble. We have an old project made in VS 2013 using Reporting. The rest of the project uses Infragistics 2015.2, but reporting is stuck on 2104.2 for obvious reasons.
My company upgraded us to VS 2015 and I have now lost the possibility to edit my .igr files in the designer. I can still compile and run which means that the reporting 2014.2 files still works. I know is it not supported by you but surely there must be a way to get the .igr report designer into VS2015. I have tried to Repair the 2014.2 installation but then it just looks at the files, not digging itself into the VS environment. In the Visual studio editor extension folder (Microsoft Visual Studio 12.0\Common7\IDE\Extensions\Infragistics\Reporting) there is everything we need, but it doesn't work to just copy this file to the same VS2015 folder. I cannot find a VSIX to run and I don't know how to install from the PKGDEF or the VSIXMANIFEST file.
So how do I go about to make the report design editor extension go into VS2015? I know it's not supported and I am on my own after that, but I really need the editor to be in VS2015.
Possible solution will be to split old report stuff to a separate project and edit with an old visual studio. There is no solution to integrate it into VS2015 (Post above "this tool will not be supported by Visual Studio 2015.").
Keeping the VS1013 might not be an option, and as I posted, I know that it is not supported. Yet, I am sure it is possible. I am sure the installation process could dig into VS2015 as it did in VS2013, but I cannot find, nor extract, the VSIX file from the infragistics 14.2 installations files.
Could you give me some pointers to how I could pull that out and actually try to install it in VS2015? Or any other means to get the functionality i?. I know I am on my own and can't claim any support or push blaim if it goes kaboom. But I am willing to try and take the risk.
Hello MMP-Peter,
Personally, I do not know of a way to push this functionality to Visual Studio 2015. I have also been speaking with our release engineering staff on this matter, and they are also unaware of any type of exposed VSIX file that you can use in an attempt to install it to Visual Studio 2015, either.
My overall recommendation on this matter would be to continue using Visual Studio 2013 for the Infragistics Reporting product, as that was the last intended version of Visual Studio for which this product was meant for use with.
